Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, first secretary of the Party and president of the Republic, woke up this Saturday in the “Las Canteras” neighborhood of the Playa municipality, the Presidencia Cuba reported on its X page.
Together with Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization, the head of State continues his exchange in the country’s municipalities.
Díaz-Canel followed up on the transformations of the neighborhood, which the dignitary has visited on other occasions.
The Governor of Havana, Yanet Hernández Pérez, explained that given the unstable situation with construction materials, the work has focused more on social care, such as linking youth to employment, providing day care centers, and legalizing living place.
The neighborhood, since July 2022, the last time the President was here, has improved services to the population, including an office with extended emergency service, a warehouse and a point of sale, he said.
According to the Cuban Presidency, in the capital municipality of Playa, Díaz-Canel also learned about the drive in complex times of the 52 workers of the Credit and Services Cooperative, Arides Estévez, the only entity of this type in the town.
Founded by Commander in Chief Fidel Castro in 1995, the Cooperative has semi-protected beds and cultivation houses.
Everything harvested here is organic, they even produce their own worm castings.
Díaz-Canel told the president of the Cooperative, Yoel Barreto, to link up with other producers, since a solid and liquid feed plant with not inconsiderable capacities is being prepared at Arides Estévez.
