Governor Rogelio Frigerio interacted with the delegations from different parts of Entre Ríos that participated in the XVIII Sports Meeting for People with Disabilities, at the Physical Education Center No. 2 Luis Mac Kay, in Gualeguay.

The head of the Entre Ríos Executive Branch said he felt comfortable “to be in Gualeguay again,” and clarified that he does not need excuses “to come to this adapted sports festival that is being held for the eighteenth time.” There, he assured that the kids “happy to be able to do sports activities” fill him with joy.

The Sports Meeting for People with Disabilities emerged from the career of the Physical Education Faculty of the Faculty of Life and Health Sciences, dependent on the Autonomous University of Entre Ríos (Uader), which maintains as its main objective that all athletes participate of the disciplines, enjoying a day of fun and friendship.

In this edition, the activity was organized by the Sports Secretariat of the province, the General Council of Education (CGE), the Municipality of Gualeguay and the Faculty of Life and Health Sciences of the Uader.

Representatives from schools, non-governmental organizations, clubs and municipalities of the province participated, as well as neighbors, who develop programs for people with disabilities.

The Meeting included Athletics, 5-a-side Soccer, Boccia, Basketball, Table Tennis and Sitting Volleyball activities throughout the morning and afternoon sessions, while in the intervals a basket lunch and a snack (chocolate milk with invoice) were shared. ).

The dance was another of the moments that excited the participants, prior to receiving the corresponding participation certificate.

An expected announcement

During his visit to the complex, the governor announced that in 30 or 60 days “we will have the resources to fix the boiler again” that stopped working more than three years ago.

“We will be able to recover the possibility of more than 3,000 people using this pool that has been the birthplace of Argentine champions,” he highlighted, pointing out that it is a natatorium not only for recreation. “Here there is competition, learning, I know that this boiler and this pool were highly requested by many residents of Gualeguay and I am lucky and happy to be able to announce that this is going to be solved,” he confirmed.
