The Association of Friends of San Román de Cameros has selected the artists Jana Garbayo Vidaurreta, David Azpurgua de Luis and Sara Martínez Maiso for the second edition of the ‘Art-Eco’ contest that takes place in the Boyal del Camero Viejo pasture. On this occasion, 37 proposals were presented, which represents a 30% increase in participation compared to the first edition. The objective of this contest of artistic intervention in nature is to give life to dry trees in the transit of the GR-93 and Caminos de Cameros 8 trails.

Each selected artist gets 500 euros. Jana Garbayo will be inspired by Van Gogh’s painting ‘The Almond Tree in Blossom’; David Azpurgua, in the work ‘Expulsion from Paradise by Michelangelo’; and Sara Martínez, in ‘Saturn devouring his son’ by Goya. However, the organization of the competition has highlighted that the work that has been repeated the most this year in the presentation of proposals has been ‘The Kiss’ by Klimt. Azpurgua was already selected in the first edition along with Marta Burgui and Concepción Jiménez.

On Saturday, June 29, an inaugural walk will be held, leaving at 10:00 a.m. from the municipal fronton of San Román, to inaugurate the artistic interventions and which will feature the presence of the winning artists themselves, who will explain the works ‘in situ’ to the attendees.
