Today Engineer’s Day will be celebrated in Argentina, an emblematic date that highlights the invaluable contribution of these professionals to the technological, industrial and economic development of the country. From the College of Specialist Engineers of Córdoba Regional Villa María (Ciec), a message of congratulations and recognition is sent to all the engineers who, with their daily work, contribute to the progress of society.

In the context of this celebration, Néstor Reynoso, president of Ciec, emphasized the challenges that engineers face in the current complex technological scenario. “Where there is advanced technology, there is a specialist engineer,” Reynoso highlighted.

The head of the entity stressed the importance of engineers being prepared to innovate and respond to the changing demands of industry and society. “The latest generation careers belong to the College of Specialist Engineers, which is why we encourage professionals to think about the development of the world to come since it involves specialized engineering,” he stated.

He also urged engineers to continue promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation as key tools to meet future challenges, from the digitalization of industrial processes to the sustainable management of natural resources.

The president of the school highlighted the sector’s commitment to the well-being and safety of the community, highlighting significant projects and advances that have contributed to improving the quality of life of citizens. “We have a broad future and I invite all engineering professionals to join our institution who will have a place, since we have specialized departments,” he said.

And he added: “We celebrate with joy that in Villa María a career that belongs to our school, which is Industrial Engineering, is going to be created, unfortunately due to the urgency of the announcement we have not been able to participate, but we do make Villa Regional Faculty available to the UTN María, with whom we maintained a dialogue, our entire structure since we have the industrial engineering department. I hope the creation of this race comes to fruition.”

A challenging future

The words of the president of Ciec resonate strongly in a context in which engineering faces unprecedented challenges. The emergence of new technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics and biotechnology is transforming the employment landscape and forcing professionals to adapt at an accelerated pace.

“Evidently the context hits us like everyone else, we are no exception and we know that our professionals are in high demand, in fact, many times they are not received and are already hired,” he indicated.

However, in this context new opportunities also arise.

Engineering has the potential to solve some of the world’s most pressing problems, such as climate change, resource scarcity and poverty. “The coming modernization will move our gears even more because all policies worldwide point towards technology and technology means specialist engineers,” he concluded.
