During the night of last Saturday, June 15, an emergency was recorded in the Argentine village, in the Las Hermosas district, rural area of ​​Chaparral.

As a result of the intense rains that have hit the department these days, a large landslide was generated, which fell on some homes. According to unofficial versions, a mother and her daughter were in one of the affected houses, who were trapped by the landslide.

However, thanks to the quick reaction of the community and the municipality’s Volunteer Fire Department, He attended to the situation in time and a tragedy was avoided.

Likewise, another case was reported in the municipality of Rioblanco, in the Los Ángeles hamlet, in the Herrera district, approximately around 3:00 am. According to the Civil Defense Major, Luis Fernando Vélez, the mass movement affected a resident of a farm in the area, who fortunately was able to leave the place. The farm was blocked off and without electricity service, so the man, identified as Luis Alfonso, had to spend the early morning in a neighboring farm where he was given a lodging.

On the other hand, the road that connects Calarcá-Cajamarca had to be closed due to the fall of rock-type material, as did the route from Caldas to Tolima via the road to Murillo, specifically in the Villamaría sector.

In the municipality of Espinal, flooding was recorded in at least 20 neighborhoods. With water up to their knees, residents woke up taking care of their belongings. Civil Defense personnel arrived at the site to attend to the different emergency situations.
