The traditional folklore parade of the Córdoba Livestock Fair will feature this year with the participation of 1,500 artists from the 30 municipalities of the department. For the first time, the Government of Córdoba is financially supporting the participation of all municipalities, so that the festival is a reflection of the cultural richness of the entire department.

Governor Erasmo Zuleta Bechara highlighted the importance of this initiative: “What we are looking for is that all municipalities can participate in the livestock fair. “More than 1,500 artists from the 30 municipalities will be present at the folklore parade.”. This represents a milestone in the history of the fair, since traditionally only groups from the capital, Montería, and some nearby municipalities participated.

The folklore parade will take place on June 13 and will feature the presence of dance groups, musicians, troupes and floats that will represent the traditions and cultural manifestations of each of the Córdoba municipalities. The parade is expected to be a mosaic of the cultural diversity of the department, with rhythms such as porro, fandango, indigenous dances and Afro-Colombian expressions.

In addition to local artists, the stop will have the special participation of the department of Nariño, guest of honor at the 2023 Livestock Fair. The people of Nariño will bring a sample of their famous Carnival of Blacks and Whites, Intangible Heritage of Humanity, to share with the people of Córdoba and visitors.

The Government of Córdoba has provided resources to support logistics, transportation and food for the participants, as well as to guarantee the safety and smooth development of the event. “We want the fair to have a great national component so that it begins to truly position itself as one of those great events in the country, especially in the Caribbean region”added Governor Zuleta.
