What happened?
A team of inspectors from the Antofagasta Customs intercepted a woman who was transporting 17 packages of cocaine on a bus that covered the route from Calama to Santiago.
The seizure took place during a routine inspection in the “La Negra” sector from Highway 5 North.

The discovery occurred when inspectors noticed luggage with an unusual weight. After identifying the owner, a Peruvian citizen who was traveling to the capital, they searched her suitcase and found the 17 rectangular packages.
However, these had a peculiarity, since they were wrapped in adhesive paper from the series Dragon Ball Super.
The packages contained cocaine hydrochloridewith a total weight of 18 kilos and 141 grams.

The woman admitted that the cargo had been given to him to transport to the Santiago bus terminal. She was subsequently remanded in custody on charges of drug trafficking.
“The operations in ‘La Negra’ are part of our joint commitment with institutions such as Carabineros and the Internal Revenue Service to combat organized crime,” explained Francisco Romero, regional director of Antofagasta Customs.
“Findings like this demonstrate the effectiveness of our audits based on specific risks, providing both concrete results and a greater sense of security for travelers,” he highlighted.
