Guadalupe Torres Sánchez He reproached some municipal authorities who only take advantage of the meetings with the Governor of San Luis Potosí Ricardo Gallardo Cardona “to take the photo”, but in reality the talks, agreements and coordination are not carried out and they only act “as if the virgin is speaking to them.”
In recent days, the State president has met with elected or re-elected mayors to coordinate the relationship between the State Government and its municipalities, however, Torres Sánchez regretted that not in all cases these meetings are in good faith and Municipalities do not give importance to the coordination that must exist between levels of government.
He pointed out that both he and the state governor himself have already been able to meet with the vast majority of the new municipal authorities, except in some cases where there is still controversy and challenges due to the closeness of the election, as is the case of Alaquins and Axtla de Terrazas with whose authorities they will not meet until there is a final determination.
However, he questioned “we must have specific coordination with the 58 city councils, we genuinely look for it but it seems that some of them only do it for the photo or they pretend that the Virgin is speaking to them and they turn the tables on the things that “We must work in a common way.”
As an example, Torres Sánchez mentioned the case of the capital of San Luis Potosí, a government with which there must be close coordination in matters of public securitybut he highlighted that there is an increase in robberies from passers-by and vehicles, which is why it is striking that while the state authority detains about twenty suspected drug dealers daily, the municipal authorities barely manage to arrest one or two, “so then “The only thing we are looking for is that the topics of cooperation are genuine, not just for show for the photo.”
