This was determined by the District Mayor’s Office, after a visit to the area after the constant rains that have been recorded.

Due to recent landslides that have occurred as a result of constant rains, the Mayor’s Office of Santa Marta announced that the Ziruma hill road will remain temporarily closed for the duration.

The above, due to a rock slide that led to the stability of the hill being evaluated.

The area was inspected by the Secretariats of Government, Infrastructure and Mobility, the Office of Risk Management and Climate Change (Ogricc) and the Santa Marta Fire Department.

During the visit to the sector, the district authorities carried out a plan consisting of generating controlled landslides to prevent future disasters.

Meanwhile, Mayor Carlos Pinedo Cuello reported that the emergencies caused by the intense rains in the city were being attended to early on.

Additionally, it was announced that, in other actions, the material from a landslide recorded on the road to Taganga was removed to restore mobility.
