The Government of Catamarca will put up for sale, through an auction, the PIPER PA-31-350 Navajo Chieftain aircraft, registration LQ-MJR, which is 46 years old and has been amortized and its operations can be carried out by other aircraft. modern and efficient facilities of the provincial aeronautical park.

This decision follows from the report sent by the Secretary of Aeronautics, dependent on the Ministry of Government, Justice and Human Rights, who describes the current status of the province’s aircraft in terms of maintenance status, interior and exterior condition, upholstery, as well as improvements in the radio and navigation equipment to bring it up to current standards.

The report details the following characteristics of the Navajo MJR:

*Model: PIPER PA-31-350 Navajo Chieftain

*Registration: LQ-MJR

*Year of Manufacture: 1978

*Configuration: 8 passengers + 2 crew

*Interior: Armchairs upholstered in beige leather, matching carpets

The report describes that the aircraft is in service with all its cabin systems and instruments complete and operational. Its annual rating is valid until October 2024, having been recently renewed by the CRUX AVIA SAS Aeronautical Repair Workshop, with rating 1B-665.

Regarding the equipment, it details:

– Radio and Navigation: Original 46-year-old equipment with an added GARMIN 150 GPS.

– Non-Pressurized Cabin: This limits sanitary operations and in meteorological conditions that require higher flight altitudes.

According to the report, the PIPER PA-31-350 Navajo Chieftain is subjected to operations and maintenance in accordance with ANAC General Aviation rules (RAAC Part 91). In this regard, they highlight that the maintenance plans recommended by the manufacturer are followed, with inspections at intervals of 50, 100, 500, and 1000 hours.

The workshops used are authorized by ANAC and are regularly audited to verify the validity of their authorizations.

In conclusion, the Ministry of Aeronautics considers that due to the age of the aircraft, operational limitations and market restrictions, the decision to auction the PIPER PA-31-350 Navajo Chieftain LQ-MJR is appropriate. Operations can be covered by more modern aircraft, and the sale of the MJR will not negatively affect the operational capabilities of the Secretariat.

The date and place of the auction is scheduled for Friday, July 5 at 10 a.m. in the hangar of the Aeronautics Secretariat, located at the Coronel Felipe Varela Airport. Friday, June 28, is the deadline for submitting documentation while the auction will be in person, to the highest bidder and subject to approval by the competent authority.
