David Zamora, 24 years old, was captured at dawn the previous Friday inside a home in the Buena Esperanza neighborhood of Santo Tomás, where the woman’s lifeless body was.
David Zamora, alias El Chamo, the subject captured by the Police after the atrocious crime of Lilia Rosa Pertuz Castro, 26, which occurred in the early morning, was presented before a Guarantee Control Judge by a prosecutor from the Atlantic Section of the investigative entity. this Friday, June 14 in the municipality of Santo Tomás.
The prosecutor’s agency reminded the judge and the representative of the public ministry, as well as the rest of the participants in the preliminary hearings, details of this fact that shook the residents of the eastern Atlantic population.
After the intervention, the representative of the office gave legality to the capture procedure.
It should be noted that Zamora had been surprised by members of the armed institution in a humble home in the Buena Esperanza neighborhood, at a time when he was trying to dismember the body of Pertuz Castro, whom he had tortured and beheaded.
Neighbors of the sector were the ones who alerted patrolmen of the armed institution about the case, around 1:30 in the morning, and in a quick reaction the young man, 24 years old, was surprised at the scene.
Capturing agents stated that the subject apparently intended to mutilate the woman’s entire body and then throw it into the municipality’s swamp, with the help of a third person whom they identified with the nickname ‘El Gordo’. This individual escaped, but was identified.
“We regret the case presented in the municipality of Santo Tomás, in which a woman lost her life. In the development of this case, citizens informed the National Police and when the surveillance patrol arrived at the sector, they found a man, who would be the alleged perpetrator of this incident. The circumstances surrounding this event are currently under investigation by our Judicial Police,” said Colonel John Urrea, commander of the Atlantic Police.
The indictment of charges was scheduled for this Thursday, June 20.
