The Minister of National Security, Patricia Bullrichlanded in The Savior and toured the largest penitentiary center on the continent, with the aim of learning about the security policies implemented by the president of that country, Nayib Bukele. The Argentine official was in the Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT)and previously visited the National Academy of Public Security (ANSP).

They were the first activities on the agenda in El Salvador, where he arrived last night in order to learn about the different strategies and actions implemented in that Central American country that allowed reducing the rates of violence, according to the Ministry.

The person in charge of receiving the Minister of Security of Argentina at the National Public Security Academy, before noon, it was César Flores Murillo, who is the director of the institution. Known as the ANSP, the organization is responsible for the training and training of members of the National Civil Police and other public security bodies in El Salvador.

In the context of his tour, Bullrich observed the various training activities, learned about the educational programs and held conversations about the practices implemented in the professionalization of police forces.

Then it was the turn to move to the Terrorist Confinement Center. The CECOT is a maximum security facility that is designed to house the gang members and other prisoners considered highly dangerous. Furthermore, for the Salvadoran government it plays a central role in the strategy to dismantle criminal structures and reduce violence rates in the country.

With a capacity for 40 thousand prisoners, the detention center is located in an isolated rural area, in the district of Tecoluca, jurisdiction of San Vicente Sur, about 69 kilometers southeast of San Salvador.

Taking this model as a reference, Patricia Bullrich visited the facilities and also learned about the security measures implemented. In that sense, she highlighted the importance of having penitentiary centers specialized in the fight against organized crime.

Regarding the relevance of her visit, one of the main officials of Javier Milei’s government expressed herself through social networks: “I arrived in El Salvador and, at the National Academy of Public Security, I was with its general director, César Flores. Murillo. He shared with me a very complete and detailed explanation about the administration of the Police and its important results.”

“I was also with Selvin Misael Perdomo González and Josselin Esmeralda Leonardo García, graduates of the Argentine National Gendarmerie, who share and apply their knowledge in the Police here. “It is a pride to export the energy, discipline and loyalty of our force!” said Bullrich.
