For his part, Alejandro Pérez, operational director of the Colombia campaign against mines, recognized all those people who visited the territory of Unguía.

He added that “collecting all the information to be able to find the whereabouts of where each of the artifacts was locatedthey walked an entire guide looking for signs of where there was some dangerous artifact.”

Likewise, he indicated that With this route, two areas were marked and cleared. There, 20 events were destroyed, areas where there had once been an incident or accident with an explosive device, and the destruction of five explosive devices was also achieved. In addition, he indicated that more than 1,081 square m² of area with mines were cleared by authorities.

Marlon Alberto Salinas, mayor of Unguía, He spoke about the importance it has for his municipality and what can be achieved in terms of tourism with this demining.

“This will open doors for us, because in our community we can now bet on tourism, we can bet on Agriculture without fear,” he declared.
