The Attorney General’s Office asked the governor of Cesar, Elvia Milena Sanjuán Dávila, to develop prevention and reaction measures to mitigate security and coexistence problems.

The control entity in turn urged the commander of the Tenth Brigade, Cesar Augusto Martínez, the director of the department’s Prosecutor’s Office, Gloria Cassiani Niño, and the commander of the Police, Eduardo Chamorro Pinzón, to develop the necessary actions and provide also information in their territories to reduce the feeling of insecurity and unrest throughout the territory.

Due to this, in communication to officials, the Public Ministry requested the management of the Security councils in order to strengthen the articulation of the actions of the different institutions and finally, deploy operations at the regional, local and departmental level in matters of security.

Therefore, Regional Cesar requested “the participation of the municipal authorities taking into account the provisions of article 277 of the Political Constitution and decree 1851 of 2021.”

At the recent Governors’ Summit, held last week in Montería, Elvia Milena Sanjuán, governor of Cesar, announced important results to her requests to guarantee security in the department.

Among the first achievements, the National Director of Police, William René Salamanca, committed to increasing the force for the south of Cesar, and also to holding a working group with the Prosecutor’s Office due to the different incidents of insecurity that affect the region. center – south of Cesar

The Governor mentioned the results of the Valledupar Metropolitan Police and at the same time asked General Salamanca to create a common fund, involving Municipalities, to improve police stations.

The Minister of Transportation, William Camargo Triana, was asked for a technical table to analyze the financial closure of the Valledupar Public Transportation System, which is a model in intermediate cities in Colombia, given that today’s problems make the Stability Fund very high

Also to Minister Camargo Triana, the governor asked him with his team to define whether it is through the Cesar-Guajira Pact, or another vehicle, the financing of the sections that are already established in his office and that correspond to the Road Plan that Cesar is coming working for 10 years.
