Manizales, June 11, 2024. With the aim of supporting artisanal culture and generating new spaces for the economic revitalization of the region, Autopistas del Café, Caldas Government and the Manizales Mayor’s Office, with the support of the Caldas Development Corporation, signed an agreement of wills to build a space for artisans and entrepreneurs called Artisan Dairya commercial showcase located in Tambo La Manuela in Manizales, in which artisans and entrepreneurs from the region will publicize their brands and market their products.

“The Tambo Artesano de Caldas seeks to give a boost and boost the economy of the small artisans of this territory. This program has operated in Risaralda and Quindío since 2022, since that date 326 artisans have participated with profits of more than 250 million pesos, without a doubt, it will contribute to recognition and will represent an important economic income for our artisans, entrepreneurs and your families. We thank all the entities for believing in the project.” explained Mauricio Vega Lemus, general manager of Autopistas del Café.

For his part, the mayor of Manizales, Jorge Eduardo Rojas, expressed: “From the mayor’s office, in collaboration with the government, we are making a significant effort so that these artisans can excel. For this reason, it is very important to have allies like Autopistas del Café, whom we consider great collaborators, who will give us the impetus to promote our region.”

The Tambo Artesano will be a tourist reference point in the Coffee Region, and one more step in regional integration and the union of this green corridor.

“This new space, the Caldas Artisan Tambo, is an immense benefit for our artisans in Caldas, we will promote our talents and their wonderful creations and thus continue strengthening the cultural heritage of our department,” said the governor of Caldas, Henry Gutiérrez.

For his part, the director of the Corporation for the Development of Caldas, Germán Maldonado, indicated “From the Corporation, we will join forces to work on strengthening and transferring knowledge to the artisans of Caldas. “We will select those artisans whose products are suitable to participate in this project and reach tourists with the best products from our region.”

The construction of the Tambo Artesano will begin in the second half of this year and will have an investment of more than 100 million pesos.
