On the afternoon of this June 16, at 3:00 pm, The vehicle in which Sigifredo Márquez Trujillo, father of Vice President Francia Márquez, was traveling, was hit four times in an attack that occurred on the road between Timba (Cauca) and the town of Robles, in the rural area of Jamundí, Valle del Cauca.

This area has been the scene of multiple attacks perpetrated by FARC dissidents, specifically by the ‘Jaime Martínez’ front.
Then videos emerged on social networks showing how The Army evacuates the family of Vice President Francia Márquez in an area of Jamundí, Valle del Cauca, after this attack.
According to information provided by the Police, the vice president’s father was traveling with a minor. Both are unharmed and were taken to the Robles – Jamundí Police substation for their protection.
The authorities confirmed that Sigifredo Márquez He is in good health, although visibly affected by the eventwhich took place in the middle of Father’s Day.
The ‘Jaime Martínez’ front has maintained a constant presence in the area and is responsible for several recent attacks. One of the most serious occurred on June 12, when a motorcycle bomb exploded in the center of Jamundí, causing six injuries.

Among them, Rafael González, a motorcycle caretaker and candy seller, has been in critical condition since then and is being treated at the Fundación Valle del Lili clinic, in the south of Cali.
