The San José de León Marist School will open its doors “in a special way to receive and honor the elderly people of our city,” according to reports from the center. The event will take place on June 19 at 4:30 p.m. in the school’s assembly hall, located on Álvaro López Núñez Avenue, number 12. It is an event open to the public until capacity is reached, free of charge, and park in the yard.
At the “heart of this event is a group of 14 and 15 year old teenagers, who have dedicatedly prepared a shadow theater performance,” they explained from the center. This initiative “not only seeks to raise awareness about the importance of caring for our common home, the earth, but also to pay tribute to older people, those wise men who have paved the way with their work, generosity and experiences.”
The shadow theater created by this group of teenagers is “a brilliant example of how art can be a powerful tool for education and social mobilization.” “With their dedication and passion, they have shown that every small action counts and that, together, we can light the path to a more sustainable and fair future for all,” they noted.
