The one born in Colo Colo who will play against the U in the Chile Cup: “It will be different”

A weekend full of matches was experienced for the start of the zonal phases of the Chile Cup. While Colo Colo waits for its match against Deportes Quillón, next Thursday the 20th at 12:30 p.m., the day will be completed this Monday, when Municipal Puente Alto “receives” Universidad de Chile at the National Stadium.

A match that will be special for one of the members of the Puente Altino team, Matías Ferrari. The 24-year-old player was trained in Colo Colo and although he was never able to debut in the first team, he was considered one of the great promises of the Alba quarry.

After a series of loans, he finally left the club at the beginning of this year and joined the team in the south of the Metropolitan Region. With this, he left professionalism aside and entered the always complex world of amateur football.. In that context, he will have the historic opportunity to face the U, just as he did at the time defending Popular.

In conversation with AS, he anticipated that the duel between both teams. “Playing in a full stadium at the Nacional against experienced players will be different. Much more for us than for them,” said the player who shared a dressing room with Gabriel Suazo, Branco Provoste, among others.

My time at the club has been very good, the reception has been excellent. I felt like one of the team right away, as soon as I joined. I am happy. It is a very difficult category, but I have found that shooting that I needed, I have scored goals, I have given assists and I have been adding many minutes,” he assured.

“The reality is different, Going from professionalism to this category, you experience something else. There are colleagues who make a tremendous sacrifice: some from work go to train, others who study, some who are parents. And we don’t have a salary, we do have help, which is not much, but it helps anyway,” he said.

“We take it very seriously, the work week has been harder than normal and we are very focused. The U is a rival from a different category. The last few days have been very intense and we will try to do a good job on Monday,” he stressed.

“The game is a good showcase for everyone, to be able to show the level we are at. Many colleagues, and personally me too, look for an option in professionalism. All the efforts one makes point there, so it is a great opportunity,” he noted.
