The main events began minutes before midnight at the Güemes Monument, where the Argentine National Anthem and the Anthem to General Martín Miguel de Güemes were sung. Next, the call of silence and the traditional changing of the Infernales Guard took place, followed by the emotional Guard Under the Stars. This event seeks to revive the spirit and courage of Güemes and his troops, honoring his memory and highlighting his fundamental role in Argentine history.
The Guard Under the Stars is a tradition that highlights the vigil and commitment of the people of Salta to keep the memory of General Güemes alive. Villarruel’s presence at this event underlines the importance of the event at the national level.

Acts of June 17 for the passage to immortality of General Güemes
This Monday, June 17, the commemorations will continue at 9 in the Pantheon of Northern Glories in the Cathedral Basilica. Here, Sáenz will lay floral offerings, a religious invocation will be made and silence will be played in honor of Güemes.
The authorities will then move to the monument to General Martín Miguel de Güemes for the presentation of the formed troops and the review of troops. The Governor and the authorities will proceed to the raising of the National Flag and the Flag of the Province, followed by more floral offerings, the call of silence and the transfer to the official boxes.
The event will continue with the singing of the Argentine National Anthem and the Hymn to General Martín Miguel de Güemes, followed by the religious invocation and the words of the president of the Traditionalist Group of Salta Gauchos de Güemes, Julio de Los Ríos. Finally, the civic-military parade will begin, closing the commemorative events.
