Esteban Gini (Toyota) took the victory in the final of the 7th date of the Turismo Carretera that was run in the city of Rafaela. Diego Ciantini and Christian Ledesma, both from Chevrolet, completed the podium.

Gini remained in third position until lap 19, when he took advantage of a mistake by Ciantini and Ledesma and took the lead. He then withstood all of Ciantini’s attacks to take the checkered flag in first position.

Ledesma had taken first place at the beginning of the race and had a good battle with Ciantini, who was a short distance away, but both got lost in the same corner, handing the victory on a plate to Gini.

After the victory, Gini expressed very excitedly that “there are many years of effort and one gets very excited. I am grateful to everyone,” while Ciantini lamented because “the victory slipped away from us again, but we were very close.” For his part, Ledesma acknowledged: “I’m not happy with the result because I was winning the entire race, but we had a good weekend.”

Gini became the seventh winner this year in the Turismo Carretera, which had a different winner on all dates.

Another of the great beneficiaries of this date was the championship leader, Julián Santero (Ford), who stretched the lead over Juan Manuel Urcera (also from Ford) to 26.5 points. Gini climbed to fifth place.
