The precautionary measure was imposed by Judge Pablo Spekuljak and followed an agreement reached between the prosecutor in the case, Estanislao Giavedoni, and the private defense of the Santa Fe merchant, led by Claudio Torres Del Sel.
The accused was identified as Lautaro Q., 28 years old, and is charged as the alleged perpetrator of simple homicide, based on a beating in which another man who is currently a fugitive also participated.

The case dates back to midnight on Thursday, February 22 of this year, when the victim of the incident, lineman Orlando Gregorio Oliva, left the accused’s restaurant, located at 2400 Hipólito Irigoyen, in the heart of Santa Fe.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, Lautaro Q. chased the homeless man after believing that he had left without paying. The chase culminated on 2800 25 de Mayo Street, when the owner of the premises, along with another fugitive man, hit the lineman with several blows.
After the beating, Oliva lay asleep and was found hours later by police officers who passed by the place and arranged for his transfer to the José María Cullen hospital, where he lay dying until March 1, when his death was confirmed.
The event was left in the hands of prosecutor Giavedoni, so an investigation was initiated to find the perpetrators. In this sense, the Prosecutor’s Office reported that records from security cameras and profiles on social networks were analyzed; Medical, police and municipal reports were collected, and a homeless person who witnessed the attack and those close to the victim were interviewed as witnesses.
After the alleged perpetrator of the incident was identified, the PDI agents went to the alleged murderer’s business and arrested him and then placed him at the disposal of Justice.
