This Tuesday, June 25, Sanjuanito Day was celebrated with a wide range of events led, above all, by the Peña Juventud. The day started with the chiqui-vueltas, a tradition created in 2016, which allows the little ones, in a way … light, enjoy the custom of spinning around the kiosk on Paseo San Julián to the rhythm of the Najerense Musical Group.
During that time, more than a hundred people could be seen, especially families, who were photographed with the ‘Morgón’ big head and the San Juan polo shirt. Two icons of Lechuguino folklore. Many kids carried water guns because, right after, they organized a refreshing battle in the same place. The emotion was tremendous for all of them.

Later, at vermouth time, the Peña Juventud, which had also organized the previous proposals, continued its programming with a performance by the Kamikaze brass band. This was followed, in the afternoon, by a free tasting of coffee and pastries at their premises and one more round of brass bands, again with parades, at 7:00 p.m. Those in yellow are in high spirits because today they are also celebrating their 20th anniversary with even more activities planned.
The afternoon storm left just in time for the concert of artists like Denorte, Melocos or Álex Ubago
The other club from Nájera, Malpica, provided the counterpoint with a board game tournament at its headquarters. Sanjuanito ended with a concert by numerous national musicians in the Plaza de Santiago as part of the ‘Dial al Sol’ tour.
