The rains in Tolima leave 20 landslides during the weekend of June 18.
Theheavy rain over the weekendcaused havoc in the musical capital, mainly in the rural area, where numerous landslides occurred that leftincommunicadoto several townships of Ibagué.
The areas affected by theselandslidesinclude: San Francisco Lower and Upper Part, Aures, San Juan de la China, San Bernardo, La Helena village, Rodeito, Bellavista, Charco Rico, San Francisco, El Cedral, El Tejar, La Cima, La Pluma, La Linda, Cay and Juntas, among others.
According toDavid Ávila, Director of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ibagué,To date, 9 of these landslides have been removed. However, it is expected that over the course of the week the passage will be enabled in the rest of the corridors.

“This weekend we have had about 20 reports of damage to road corridors. Strategically, we have generated a route with the support of the community, to hold work tables and identify the most critical sectors. We have removed 9 landslides, 2 are in process and there is already a scheduled date to intervene on the pending ones.”

Likewise, it is expected that the pending procedures for intervention will be attended to.between June 17 and 20due to the machinery deficit that currently exists.
“We do not have all the machinery working, since some are undergoing maintenance, in order to be able to remove all the yellow machinery equipment.”
