The Asilo San José has become a target of insecurity in recent days: on Friday they tried to rob a worker at the entrance to her shift and then “groped” another. And between Saturday and yesterday they tried to take a bronze plaque weighing more than 20 kilos of historical value, although they did not succeed. This was stated by Carmen Galetto, president of the institution.

Galetto was concerned about the wave of criminal acts that they have been subjected to in recent days.

Galetto reported that on Friday they tried to rob one of the employees when she came to work early. While one of her classmates, when she finished her homework and left to leave, “they groped her.”

In a couple of days, an employee suffered a robbery attempt and they tried to take a bronze plaque.

“Entry to the asylum is through Mexico, there are girls in the nursing part who enter very early and the other guards leave after 10 at night. Everything is lit and there is S24, but there are no more houses; there is nothing. So, it is illuminated, but if no one is looking, it is complicated,” Galetto pointed out.

The woman said she did not know whether Salud 24 Horas has security personnel or not. “If there was security, they would also be watching, if they are inside. I don’t know how that is handled, but I think it’s people who are on that path. In other words, it is a block and from there they see all the movements of the asylum.”

Finally, he insisted on the problems that this situation generates for them: “I hope that we can overcome this, because the truth is that it is a risk for the staff also in addition to theft and insecurity and what all this means, because it is not a small plate. ”.

As for the bronze plaque, he concluded that they surely failed in the attempt because “it is a very busy street and it has not been very easy, because it is a very large plaque. They have broken the entire part of the marble. Besides, there are bars to enter, so it hasn’t been a quick thing. The plaque is made of bronze, it must weigh 25 kilos and it belongs to the person who donated the land for the asylum to be built,” he indicated.

“I don’t know how they were able to do it, because it wasn’t in 10 minutes, it took them about an hour. It was last night, and this morning (yesterday), there was mass and the girls went to open the chapel and found this,” the woman added.

In a year and a half, the plaque commemorating the dawn of the Asilo San José turns 100 years old. It was in the chapel, inside a fence of bars.
