The provincial deputies of the La Libertad Avanza bloc, Roque Fleitas and Débora Todoni, presented this Friday a bill to implement the Single Voting Ballot. It is worth remembering that, weeks ago, the provincial Executive introduced a political reform project that includes this aspect.
As stated APFthe deputies introduced this initiative with the objective of “highlighting the importance and advantages of implementing” this voting system in the province’s elections to replace Provincial Law No. 2,988 and which has the sheet ballot as a voting element .

“The transition to this new electoral model will not only modernize the electoral model, but will strengthen the transparency, equity and efficiency of our democratic system,” the bloc stated. In this framework, the legislators assured that this system minimizes the risk of electoral fraud: “The Single Ballot is provided by the State and delivered to the voter at the same time of voting” and they stressed that there would be “a notable reduction in costs associated with the printing and distribution of ballots.
Likewise, they considered that the Single Ballot would simplify the electoral process, promote equity and equal opportunities among parties with fewer resources and there would be a lower environmental impact due to less printing of ballots, as well as greater confidence in the electoral system.
