In response to the critical situation faced by some municipalities in Córdoba due to flooding, the department has received 4,500 humanitarian aid managed by Governor Erasmo Zuleta Bechara before the National Federation of Departments. This aid will come at a crucial time to provide assistance to families affected by the current rainy season and the consolidation of the La Niña Phenomenon.

The food, hygiene and kitchen kits will be distributed in the territories that have reported the most serious situations to the Government of Córdoba.

The National Army has collaborated in the work of receiving this aid, which will facilitate its subsequent delivery to the populations most in need.

Henry Licona, technical director of the Córdoba Risk Management Office, explained that “the aid will be delivered to the municipalities that, in addition to the floods, have registered the families in the Single Registry of Victims.” This measure seeks to guarantee that resources reach those who need them most in these times of emergency.

In addition, the Government of Córdoba has reported that this week it will lead a risk management committee with the participation of the departmental government team, the municipal mayors’ offices and the Regional Autonomous Corporation of the Sinú and San Jorge Valleys (CVS). This committee will address the emergency that is being recorded in the territory of Córdoba and will define a prevention and mitigation plan to face the challenges posed by floods.
