This weekend, despite the economic crisis in the country, the province had a positive balance in the tourist movement: More than 250 thousand people visited the capital of Cordoba and the different valleys. The City had an occupancy of around 85% and a total economic impact of around 30 billion pesos.
“If we add to that those who go out for a walk and return on the same day, that is, they do not sleep or stay anywhere, the total number rises to 500 thousand,” he indicated. Darío Capitani, from the Córdoba Tourism Agency.
In the city and due to the presentation of the renowned international DJ Hernán Cattaneo, a positive impact was generated in the different areas that cross the tourism sector of around 30 billion pesos. “This is key to motorizing and energizing the Córdoba economy. It is work that is maintained, that is created. That is why we are convinced that the support and incentive of meeting tourism is vital, as highlighted by Governor Martín Llaryora,” said the president of the Córdoba Tourism Agency.
Looking ahead to next weekend, in the preview, the numbers are “more than encouraging,” Capitani defined. For example, the Punilla Valley today registers more than 75% reserves, Calamuchita 79%, and Traslasierras – like the Sierras Chicas – 75%.
Finally, the head of provincial tourism highlighted the essential support of the private sector because “they are the ones who keep Córdoba as one of the most competitive places in the country.” And he concluded: “With the launch of the winter season we are going to continue the tourism policy carried out by the provincial government. We have offers of all types and colors during the winter; and -for example- the possibility that the people of Córdoba can receive important benefits in hotel stays and entertainment using the Córdoba card.”
