Colo Colo should have debuted in the Chile Cup 2024 against Deportes Quillón this Sunday, June 16 in Concepción, but the match was initially rescheduled for this Thursday, June 20 due to the State of Catastrophe that was decreed in the south of the country.

But days before the game, DaleAlbo found out that The match was suspended again and will not be played this Thursday, so it will be rescheduled for a new date. The reasons are the same as the first suspension: State of Catastrophe in the Bío Bío region, bad weather and the deplorable state of the field in which the Ester Roa Rebolledo stadium was left of Concepción.

Both Colo Colo and Deportes Quillón were notified of the suspension due to the partial closure of the Penquista stadium, which cannot be used until at least this Sunday, June 23. The ANFP has not yet made it official, but alternatives for both dates and stadiums are already being sought so that the match can be played as soon as possible.

Thus, Jorge Almirón and his team will have to continue waiting to face Deportes Quillón, in the absence of a new date and/or possible stadium to play the Chile Cup match.

The stadiums that appear as an alternative for the Colo Colo vs Quillón duel

As the Ester Roa Rebolledo stadium in Concepción cannot be used in the short term due to the state of the field after the bad weather front in the region, other stadiums in the central-southern area of the country appear as options to host the Colo Colo vs Quillón match.

According to DSports journalist, Rodrigo López, The El Teniente stadiums in Rancagua and the Fiscal stadium in Talca are being considered to host the match as soon as possible. If this happens and it is played in another stadium other than the Concepción colossus, the clubs must receive the respective authorization from the authorities, as well as define what will happen to the tickets that had been purchased for the match in Collao.
