The events that led to the murder of Diego Fernando Muñoz in the rural area of Pitalito are being investigated by the authorities.

The authorities in Pitalito preliminarily describe an attempted robbery as the reason why a 17-year-old boy was murdered in the last few hours.
As established, the events occurred early last Sunday in a place in the El Macal village when the victim, accompanied by his brother, were heading towards their home.
Armed individuals aboard a motorcycle intercepted them on the road and without saying a word they hit the young man who had recently graduated from high school with a firearm and killed him.
After the events occurred, the authorities began operations to capture those responsible for this, which is the 30th murder so far in 2024, apprehending hours later an armed subject who is the main suspect in the crime.
