Cundinamarca: The deadline with discount for payment of vehicle tax is extended

The Government of Cundinamarca has decided to give vehicle owners more time to pay the discounted vehicle tax. Initially, the deadline was set for May 24; However, the authorities have extended the deadline until June 28. This measure allows taxpayers to take advantage of an additional 10% discount.

Deadline for payment of vehicle tax is extended

According to the 2024 fiscal calendar, the first vehicle tax due date occurred on May 24.

Through the Ministry of Finance, the Government reported that owners of vehicles with license plates registered in Cundinamarca now have an additional month to comply with the tax obligation and, at the same time, take advantage of the available discount.

It is crucial to remember that, unlike vehicles registered in Bogotá, which must pay a traffic light cost of 87,000 pesos by 2024, Cundinamarca vehicles must cover administrative costs of 32,900 pesos, in addition to an additional charge of 3,000 pesos according to the Law 2199-2022 for the Metropolitan Region.

For those interested in complying with this tax obligation, the last deadline without the discount extension expires on August 4 of this year.

This date remains immutable. Therefore, it is recommended that owners take action before June 28 to benefit from the discount offered.

Payments can be made online through the official website of the Cundinamarca Treasury Secretariat. The website allows you to generate the necessary form using the owner’s document number and the vehicle’s license plate.

Subsequently, payment can be made through the PSE platform or download the receipt to pay at an authorized banking entity.

The banking entities authorized to receive these payments include Av. Villas, BBVA and Davivienda. In this way, taxpayers have multiple options to comply with their tax duties expeditiously and effectively.

It should be noted that the term for payment of the vehicle tax in Bogotá also expires June 28. However, in this case, payments can be made without discount, although exempt from penalties and interest.
