On Thursday afternoon, two people riding a motorcycle threw a grenade at a police station in the municipality of Pradera, department of Valle del Cauca.
According to the municipal mayor, Francisco Javier Guzmán, The grenade did not explode, avoiding material and human damage.
“Two individuals riding a motorcycle threw a grenade at the police station, Fortunately the grenade did not explode and no difficulty was generated, no impact on property or police officers,” said the mayor.

Likewise, the president stressed that The authorities carried out the controlled deactivation of the grenade and gave a report of tranquility to the citizens of the municipality of Pradera.
“Our armed forces subsequently deactivated the grenade. Fortunately, the entire matter was handled within the terms and regulations for deactivating such objects. I want to give some peace of mind to all the Pradereños, “I want to tell you that at this moment there is total control by the Police and the Army,” he added.

Finally, Mayor Francisco Javier Guzmán, urged citizens to provide information timely to prevent violent incidents in the territory.
“Also, I would like to ask all citizens that when they see suspicious people who want to leave instruments that could be explosives, unknown motorcycles or other types of elements, immediately notify the police authorities, because we all have to be united to defend the safety of our people“, the president concluded.
It should be noted that due to these facts, an extraordinary security council will be held, together with the Government of the Valley and the authorities, to analyze this situation and avoid violent events.
