CÓRDOBA EVENTS | A two-year-old girl dies in a swimming pool in Baena

A two year old girl died this afternoon in Baena (Cordova)according to the Emergency Coordination Center (Cecem 112), a service attached to the Ministry of the Presidency, Interior, Social Dialogue and Administrative Simplification of the Board.

Telephone 112 received at 4:50 p.m. a call requesting help for a minor who had been taken from a pool with symptoms of drowning in a local country house. Immediately, the coordinating room notified the Health Emergency Center 061 (CES) and to the Civil Guard.

The girl, Jazmín, was with her grandparents, since the parents are working abroad, who were celebrating a family party when the fatal accident occurred, according to sources from the Baena Local Police.

Health sources have confirmed to 112 the death in the minor’s health center, where she has been transferred by her own relatives, after multiple resuscitation attempts by the health team, which has also had the help of a medical team from the Reina Sofía hospital that has been transferred by helicopter. Furthermore, they have indicated that a 57-year-old man had to receive assistance without the need for hospital transfer.

The Civil Guard has taken charge of the investigation into the event and is awaiting the results of the autopsy.
