Ganfeng Lithium, Chinese capital company and with a strong presence in Salta and Jujuy with several lithium projectssigned a new educational agreement with institutions from localities in the interior of Salta, belonging to the area of ​​influence of its activities in the province.

This is an agreement endorsed by the Ministry of Education of the province, by which the students of the School of Technical Education No. 3159 Dr. Darío Felipe Arias, from the town of El Bordo and the School of Technical Education No. 3173 “President Néstor Carlos Kirchner”, from San Antonio de los Cobres, They will be able to carry out professional internships in the mining company.

From the Ministry of Education – with whom the company had already signed a cooperation agreement in 2022 – they highlighted the “great effort that the company faced to implement the project, since it not only demands a large investment in transportation, meals, lodging, clothing and protection and work elements, but also the complex logistics involved in transporting students to the projects. This was stated by Fabiola Rodríguez, official of the provincial educational portfolio.

This will be the second year in which the students of San Antonio de los Cobres will be able to develop their professional practices at the company’s facilities. In this regard, Professor Julio Montaño assured that “we appreciate Ganfeng’s courage to approach this project seriously, because companies have passed through here that did not provide a real opportunity to the children to demonstrate that they have the conditions to be part of an industry like mining”. The director of the institution, Estela Burgos, also highlighted that “we are very happy to continue offering this great opportunity for our students.”

It should be noted that the internships that will begin in El Bordo will be the first and will mean an unparalleled experience, since they will be carried out in the Mariana Project. On this point, the director of the Technical School, Silvia Rivero, elaborated: “We thank the company, because there will be students from the Güemes department who will be able to do their internships in Puna. This is something new and that has pleasantly surprised us.”

For Ganfeng, the agreement was signed by the superintendent of Human Development, María Clara Ochoa, and the head of Community Relations, Rodrigo Saravia, who thanked the Ministry for accompanying them in this initiative and the institutions for the warmth provided in generating a bond that, surely, It will bring new opportunities for many young people from Salta in the mining industry.
