After five long years of waiting, last Saturday Cochrane saw the return of the traditional Frost Festival, which had not been held since 2019 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and lack of financing. However, this year the administration led by Mayor Jorge Calderón Núñez obtained the necessary funds from the Regional Government of Aysén to carry out this folkloric festival in the so-called “Tierra del Baker”.
The event, held in front of a packed Municipal Gymnasium, included the participation of the Soul and Dream Group; the local musician Regner Oyarzo; the Argentine dance ensemble, Southern Gallop; the emblematic Los Lazos Group; all the peasant humor by The Carnation and the romantic cueca of At the 4 Windswho made the entire audience present in the venue vibrate from start to finish.
