Saint Gregory Barbárigo was a 17th century Italian cardinal and bishopknown for its holinesshis erudition and his dedication to pastoral service. He was born on September 16, 1625 in Venice Italy. Saint Gregory played an important role in ecclesiastical diplomacy and in the administration of the Church. He participated in several diplomatic missions and in the organization of diocesan councils. He passed away on June 18, 1697 in Padua, Italy. He was canonized by Pope John XXIII in 1960.
