With the participation of 24 teams, 16 men’s and for the first time 8 women’s, from June 18 to 28 the third edition of the Neighborhood Tournament soccer game that distributes more than 30 thousand pesos in prizes.
The main objective of the competition is keep young people away from vices and offer them an alternative path through sport. In addition, it is intended to be a space for family enjoyment and community coexistence.
The opening of the tournament is scheduled this Tuesday the 18th at 6:00 in the afternoon at the Adolfo López Mateos Unit. And the matches will take place at 7:30 and 8:50 p.m., on fields 2 and 3 of the same venue, refereed by Potosí whistlers. Each team will receive a ball specially designed for the tournament.

The financial prizes are: $20,000 pesos for the men’s champion and $10,000 pesos for the women’s monarchs.
As mentioned, 24 teams participate, in the men’s branch there are 16 divided into four groups of four, and the first places advance to the semifinals. In the women’s branch there are eight teams, and there are no groups, otherwise it will be direct elimination, starting with the quarterfinals, the winners advance to the semis and then the grand final. Players between 17 and 35 years old were invited.
The presentation of the tournament was led by Jacqueline Camacho Arriaga, head of Inpojuve, accompanied by Joaquín García, head of the Potosino Institute of Physical Culture and Sports; René Contreras Flores, director of the Temazcalli Institute; Óscar Alberto Rodríguez Salazar, director of Sports Development; the semi-professional player Francisco Julián Cardona Mireles, and the former professional player Fausto Ruíz Villalobos, as well as the tournament organizer, Josué Martínez.
