Strike in Río Negro: Unter protests this Wednesday

Wednesday, June 19, will be a day marked by protests both in the province of Río Negro. The measures were taken by teaching unions.

Although in Neuquén social organizations had announced measures with road closures as part of the claim that points towards the Neuquén government for the request for jobs that have not materialized so far. During the night of Tuesday they reversed the initiative and confirmed that the measures were being lifted.

According to César Parra, representative of Polo Obrero in Neuquén, a “new government commitment” was achieved and pending compliance, the protests will be suspended.


24-hour strike in Río Negro: the Unter protests


For his parte in Río Negro, the 24-hour strikes in different locations correspond to the measures taken by the Unter union.

The Union of Education Workers (Unter) after carrying out a strike last Friday, ratified a new strike for this Wednesday “due to the lack of a joint call.” The measure was taken after the rejection of the proposal presented by the Río Negro government in the joint meeting on June 12, which they considered “insufficient in terms of salary recomposition, both in remuneration amounts and by position.”
