A special arrangement of “Murder on the Dancefloor”, by Sophie Ellis-Bextor, was the song in charge of opening the exciting and warm concert offered by the popular music ensembles of the PUCV Conservatory of Music, which performed before a massive audience that applauded each of the interventions in the Municipal Theater of Viña del Mar.

The first part was performed by the 22 artists that make up the Ensamble Avanzando de Música Popular, under the direction of Professor Diego Vega. Thus, classics like “Killing me softly”, “All of me” and “Chega da Saudade” sounded.

Meanwhile, six professors from the classes taught at the Conservatory gave life to a brilliant repertoire that included Pamela Castro in singing, Carlos Caamaño on piano, Ricardo Álvarez on tenor saxophone, Felipe Pérez on electric guitar, Diego Vega on electric bass and Manuel I’m on battery. The academics performed well-known pieces such as “Nature boy” and “Misty”, among others.

The day, full of energy and musical nuances, concluded with teachers and students sharing the stage to perform “This masquerade” together.

This concert was organized by the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso, through the Artistic Cultural Linkage Directorate, and the Music Institute, with the sponsorship of the Municipal Theater of Viña del Mar.
