The Municipality of Salta invites residents and tourists to participate in the lighting of the Historic Town Hall that will take place on Thursday, June 20, as part of the commemoration of Flag Day on the 204th anniversary of the death of General Belgrano.
Date established by law 12361/38 in honor of someone who died in 1820 in the city of Buenos Aires, in the most extreme poverty, forgotten by his fellow citizens who were struggling in the first civil wars that left the country in mourning. There were only his brother, his closest friends and Dr. Readhed, who accompanied the hero sent by General Güemes.
The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the lighting of the esplanade of the historic building in the colors of the National Flag.
The ceremony will have the participation and performance of the “25 de Mayo” Municipal Band with an outstanding repertoire for the public present to enjoy.
Likewise, they will accompany the folkloric ballet “Tradición Salteña”, by Professor Villagra, with a dance presentation and performance alluding to the date.
