The Fourth Criminal Court of the Montería Circuit sentenced Daniel Esteban Ramos Flórez and Victor Daniel Pacheco Pérez for the feminicide of Diana María Herrera Mendoza 15 years old.
According to the official report, the judge in the case imposed a sentence of 41 years in prison on Daniel as the perpetrator of the crime, while Víctor was given 1 year and 4 months in prison for the crime of favoring.
The events were recorded on November 20, 2021 in an abandoned cabin in the coastal area of the municipality of Puerto Escondido, in the department of Córdoba.
The Prosecutor’s Office announced that “at 6:30 pm on November 20, 2021, young Daniel, 19, asked his friend Victor to give him a ride on a motorcycle to a cabin located on the shores of the beach in the municipality of Puerto Libertador, Córdoba, to which Mr. Pacheco agreed to the proposal, so he transported him and his 16-year-old girlfriend Diana Maria Herrera Mendoza to the cabin located in said sector.”
The accusing body indicated that Víctor Pacheco left the place after completing the race, however, he returned to the site at 8:40 p.m. that same day, finding the macabre scene.
“Víctor goes to the place where he had left his friend, at the insistence that he open the door of the cabin and he did not do so, the young man opens it and finds the scene where Daniel was hanging Diana with a shoelace, “who dies as a result of cerebral anoxia due to strangulation and suffocation, in addition to causing injuries that exceed the need to cause the death of the adolescent in question, this with the aim of causing her intense pain and suffering.”.
Later, Victor helped Daniel hide the body in one of the rooms of the cabin where the teenager’s body was found.
The Sectional Prosecutor 01, Pedro Antonio Montañez Gómezbrought charges against Daniel Esteban Ramos Flórez and Victor Daniel Pacheco Pérezfor the criminal conduct of aggravated homicide, which was not accepted by the defendants.
Both were protected by a custodial security measure, consisting of preventive detention in a prison, but are currently free.
