PUCV says goodbye to more than 140 exchange students

In the Hall of Honor of the PUCV Central House, the traditional farewell ceremony was held for more than 140 international students from Germany, Colombia, Spain, France, Italy, Mexico, Norway, New Zealand, Peru, the United Kingdom and the United States. Joined.

The students had the experience of learning about aspects of the culture of our country and especially of Valparaíso, a city that has a long history in the international arena, considering the heritage it has first as a port and also as a destination place for multiple immigrants who arrived at the end of the 19th century.

The general director of International Affairs, Orlando de la Vega, said that around 500 foreign students arrive every year, recovering from the impact of the pandemic. At the PUCV they develop short-term, semester and one-year programs, in addition to others organized to suit each student, developing subjects in various academic units of the PUCV.

“It has been a semester of sharing very closely in a process of deep cultural immersion, because it is not only academic, but there is also knowledge of culture and society. Many live with Chilean families, so they have a reality that allows them to take a comprehensive look,” he added.

Fany Flahaut studies Law at the Catholic University of Lyon in France. “The PUCV is very well known in France and I have friends who locate it. My experience here was wonderful, the professors are very friendly and I had the opportunity to do an internship at the Constitutional Court of Chile. If I had not come to this University, it would not have been possible.”
