He ambassador of Ukraine in Spain, Serhii Pohoreltsevhe claimed this Thursday in Córdoba business help for the reconstruction of your countrydevastated by war after the invasion of Russia, in two aspects that are considered fundamental, such as the energy infrastructure and the demining of the territory.

Phoreltsev has participated in a conference organized in theCircle of Friendship for International Trade Forum Foundation under the title Ukraine: present and future of trade and reconstructionin which representatives of several companies and entities from Córdoba participated.

The ambassador explained that “it has been a long time since the enemy is attacking electrical installations and all the energy system“And that, he added, “is suffered by the economy and the civilian population because they are left without light and without water”. In that area, he pointed out that “there is a large volume of workbecause it is a critical infrastructure that cannot wait another day”, because although the Ukrainian government tries to recover what was attacked, “the enemy continues bombing.”

Minefield

The other major issue for which the ambassador in Spain demands the attention of Spanish companies is the demining of the land, “because a large part of the territory of Ukraine is mined or harbors projectiles and bombs that have not exploded.” It is calculated, according to Pohoreltsev, that a 26% of Ukraine’s territory is mined. The diplomat indicates that the country is working on training of personnel in this complicated task, but there is still a lack of “many personnel, there is a need to organize training, we need machines, equipment, technologies to demine. Thus, the Ukrainian politician pointed out that his country I would thank the Spanish companies who are willing and able to participate in the reconstruction of the energy system and in demining” who join.

Serhii Pohoreltsev acknowledged that Ukraine has important international support, both institutional and financial, and in the supply of war material, “but many things are missing to have the possibility of carrying out counteroffensive operations to recover all the temporarily occupied territories.”

Peace Summit

The ambassador pointed out the importance that the recent Swiss Peace Summit, in which 92 countries participated, of which 58 did so through their heads of state. That presence is an example, in his opinion, of the global support that Ukraine is receiving in the face of the Russian invasion and thanked Pedro Sánchez for his presence in it.

That was an example of “the global world” supporting them, which will mean that peace will come, for which he hopes that the next summit of the NATO in Washington, “where we are going to receive the invitation to be part of the alliance”, which, from his point of view, would be “the maximum guarantee of security.”

Despite the difficult situation that the country is going through, the ambassador recalled that «“Ukraine’s economy continues to function,” although there are companies that were forced to change their headquarters or move their production processes to other points or countries.
