In Yopal two sexual offenders of minors under 14 years of age are prosecuted » PRENSA LIBRE CASANARE

Prosecutors from the Center for Attention to Victims of Sexual Assault (Caivas) of Yopal got judges with a guarantee control function to impose prison security measures against two men allegedly responsible for sexually assaulting two minors under 14 years of age.

Jhon Fredy Niño Acevedo would have sexually assaulted the victim, who at the time of the events was 10 years old. The minor was subjected to sexual harassment between January 2022 and September 2023, during which time the defendant would have entered a home in the La Benddiciones de Yopal sector (Casanare) on several occasions.

The Prosecutor’s Office charged him with the crime of abusive sexual intercourse with a minor under 14 years of age.

On the other hand, Carlos Andrés Barrios Andrade was prosecuted, who on June 1, 2024 entered as a guest a home in the El Progreso III sector of Yopal and during a neglect of the parents of a minor under 7 years of age, he subjected the minor to sexual abuse. For these events, he was charged with the crime of sexual acts with a minor under 14 years of age.

None of the defendants accepted the charges.
