This Thursday, the Chilean Meteorological Directorate (DMC) issued a Weather alarm in the regions of Valparaíso, Metropolitana, O’Higgins, Maule and Ñuble due to the forecast of intense rainfall in a short time

According to the organization, this meteorological event It could leave up to 60 millimeters of water in some locations in the country during these days.

In detail, the first alarm refers to intense rains that will occur between the early morning and the night of Friday, June 21 in the regions of Valparaíso, Metropolitana and O’HigginsWhere, in Santiago would fall up to 50 millimeters in 24 hours.

The second alarm points to the showers that are currently affecting the Maule and Ñuble regions, where up to 60 millimeters could fall this Thursday.

This front system could generate flooding, waterlogging or overflows in different sectors of Chile.

Faced with this situation, the National Disaster Prevention and Response Service (Senapred) is monitoring the arrival of this front systeml between Valparaíso and Los Lagos. Meanwhile, he declared red alert for the entire Biobío Region.
