Vargas described the situation as good, noting that many passengers who traveled last weekend will return this Sunday. “The majority of services are with reinforcements for Sunday,” iHe indicated, anticipating an increase in the flow of passengers for the close of the long weekend.

Regarding ticket sales, Vargas commented that there was a decrease due to the reduction of services approximately 60 days ago. “We are not working with the number of services we worked with last year. The frequency dropped by approximately 30% and 40% and therefore also the passengers,” he explained.

Vargas highlighted the current promotions, particularly the “Movete por La Rioja” program, which offers discounts of up to 50% and 25% on tickets. “The program worked very well and people who came from other provinces were surprised. “It was very accepted,” he assured. These types of initiatives have helped mitigate the decline in sales during normal days.

With the winter holidays approaching, Vargas noted that there are many inquiries, mainly related to prices. “The majority are looking at the prices, surely in July there will be a 9% increase with the updated rates,” he anticipated. This trend suggests a possible rebound in ticket sales during the holiday period.

On normal days, sales dropped considerably. “There are days when the cars do not reach 30% or 40% occupancy. That is why promotions are made and the car has to circulate carrying the greatest number of people. To date there are 50% fewer passengers,” Vargas explained, underlining the challenge of maintaining profitability in the current context.

Regarding payment methods, Vargas mentioned that most passengers prefer to use credit cards. “80% or 90% choose credit cards to have a 6-month payment passivity,” he explained, highlighting the importance of offering financing options to facilitate purchases.

Despite current challenges, such as the reduction of services and the decrease in the number of passengers, the La Rioja bus terminal is implementing strategies such as promotions and discounts to attract more travelers. With the expectation of an increase in demand during the winter holidays, these measures are expected to contribute to improving the situation in the sector in the coming months.
