Almost 300 trucks stranded this Friday due to the snow storm in Neuquén: six groups attended in Siete Lagos

Due to the snow storm that hit much of Neuquén, circulation on the province’s routes was restricted on Thursday. This Friday, traffic was re-enabled on Route 237. There are almost 300 trucks stranded between Zapala, Cutral Co, and Las Lajas due to the closure of Pino Hachado. Yesterday we had to assist six groups on the Seven Lakes Route.

Listen to Luciana Ortiz Luna, who spoke about the snow storm, on RÍO NEGRO RADIO:

In dialogue with Ya es tiempo de Río Negro Radio, the secretary of emergencies and Risk Management, Luciana Ortiz Luna, stated that Due to the closure of the Pino hachado pass, there are 80 trucks stranded in the Zapala free zone, 230 in Las Lajas, and a smaller number in Cutral Co.

Among the difficulties that occurred yesterday, he mentioned the cuts that occurred in National Highways, which made it difficult to obtain information in real time “and make decisions.”

He added that even with other national organizations such as the CNRT, due to the difficulty of finding a reference, “it was not possible to coordinate” and “there was a large movement of groups.” He noted that “the Neuquén buses were able to stop at the terminal.”

He added that There were private vehicles that did not respect the carrying and use of chains.

He stressed that the panorama on the routes was an obstacle to the referral of critical patients from Chos Malal, Aluminé and San Martín de los Andes.

Due to the restriction on circulation that existed on the province’s routes, including 237, There were people who had to spend the night in a gym in Piedra del Águila. Local lodgings collapsed. Assistance was provided to stranded passengers from the local municipality. This morning, Route 237 was opened “with extreme caution.”

Snow storm: there were no fatalities

Ortiz Luna highlighted that No fatal accidents were recorded yesterday. He noted that there were two overturns, but no serious injuries.

Regarding the points of greatest accidents so far this year, he mentioned la Route 237, a section of Route 40 road to Villa La Angostura, Route 7 at the height of San Patricio del Chañar and Autovía Norte.
