The holding of the First Planning Committee of the School Feeding Program (PAE) in Santa Marta left several key points related to the strengthening of this permanence strategy.

One of them is the materialization of the efforts made before the National Government by Mayor Carlos Pinedo Cuello and the Secretary of District Education, Sandra Patricia Muñoz, to guarantee that the more than 53 thousand beneficiary students continue to have their food in the 75 educational institutions, made up of more than 150 locations.

Another aspect is to achieve, in these four years of government, expand coverage and bring the nutritional components established by the Ministry of National Education to more students in the official sector throughout the District of Santa Marta.

This was reflected in the conclusions at the end of this First Territorial Committee, in which delegated officials from the Secretariats of Finance, Planning, Health, and Economic Development participated; the Director of Contracting of the Mayor’s Office of Santa Marta, Hirán Ramírez; the high advisor for the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Sarita Vives Gutiérrez; the technical team of the Ministry of Education and the School Feeding Program team.

Own Indigenous Food Program

During this committee, the Own Indigenous Food Program was addressed as a priority issue, in which this administration, through the Ministry of Education and the High Council for the Sierra Nevada, has carried out working groups with the authorities of the indigenous peoples. , in order to start this strategy as soon as possible.

“More than 3 thousand students will benefit from the Own Indigenous Food Program, which adds to the 53 thousand that we have already been serving in this administration,” declared Adaúlfo Manjarrés Mejía, legal advisor of the District Education Secretariat.

Likewise, the strategic planning and the contractual schedule for the 2025 period were extensively reviewed, in order to report in a timely manner to the Food to Learn Unit (UAPA) of the Ministry of National Education the administrative, technical and resource needs. with which we must face this program in the next term.

“Mayor Carlos Pinedo Cuello has given instructions to all the secretariats so that we serve efficiently and guarantee from the first day of the 2025 academic calendar all educational permanence strategies, such as the School Feeding Program, transportation and aid. for students with special needs,” Manjarrés Mejía pointed out.
