The Government of Chubut, led by Ignacio “Nacho” Torres, signed an agreement through the Ministry of Education with the Banco Chubut Foundation, aimed at implementing the “Proposal for Education in Digital Environments”, developed by the Civil Association “Faro Digital” .
This project is fully aligned with the Comprehensive Provincial Literacy Plan, addressing crucial topics such as digital identity, privacy, cyberbullying, grooming, technological dependency, misinformation, access to inappropriate content and digital gambling.
The Minister of Education of Chubut, José Luis Punta, and the president of the Banco Chubut Foundation, Ornella Costa, signed this agreement at the headquarters of the Ministry of Education. The main objective of this collaboration lies in coordinating efforts to implement the Digital Literacy program, which aims to promote a critical and creative pedagogical approach towards digital technologies, empowering the community through education and dialogue to build a culture of digital citizenship. .
The Proposal for Education in Digital Environments aims to strengthen digital citizenship through participatory and updated methodologies, based on human rights. The aim is to promote a cultural transformation that leads to digital well-being among the province’s young people through education, citizen participation and political commitment.
This project will be implemented in two aspects: a project aimed at Secondary Education students and another focused on teachers. For students, three mass meetings will be held with 500 participants each, focused on the aforementioned problems and active participation.
The second project, aimed at more than 600 teachers, tutors, managers and work teams at the Primary and Secondary Level, will be developed remotely through nine synchronous meetings and asynchronous activities using the “Faro Digital” educational platform.
