On Thursday the Government announced the release of five properties in the northern area of Santa Cruz. However, 100 of the 137 evictions that correspond to the National Institute of Agrarian Reform (INRA) have not yet been carried out.

Five properties occupied by invaders They were recovered by the Police, through an operation carried out in the Northern zone, an area that borders the Guarayos province, a region where violent occupations have been reported for several years.

After the police operation that led to the recovery of these five properties in the Obispo Santisteban province, in Santa Cruz, the Prosecutor’s Office issued arrest warrants against five alleged leaders of the attacks.

The Association of Oilseed and Wheat Producers (Anapo) applauded the government action and asked that properties continue to be recovered. His vice president, Richard Paz, He said it in a meeting with the media.

The legal advisor of one of the owners, who requested that her name be withheld for fear of reprisals, indicated that the attackers had been in the area since last year. “They would arrive at night armed, intimidating, working the land and then they would leave,” she said.

A total of 6,739 hectares were recovered after the operation, of which 1,289 hectares correspond to the property called Nueva Toledo; of the Nueva Toledo I property, 1,418 hectares; of the Fujo rustic fund, 1,018 hectares; from Monteverde, 1,833 hectares and from Garza Blanca, 1,181 hectares.

-What do you think about what happened on Thursday?

We view with absolute satisfaction the actions of the Police, who complied with the orders issued by the competent authorities against these oppressors who have deprived a group of producers from the northern area of our department (Santa Cruz) of the right to carry out their work. The truth is that we are very pleased as leaders of the parent institution and we hope that this work does not stop for any reason.

– What is the next step?

We consider that what now remains to be done is to return these lands to their legitimate owners. But, action has been taken against these so-called community members so that in a later situation the ownership rights of all these properties that were subjugated can also be protected.

– What’s left to do?

We insist that we are very pleased with what the police have done, and we hope that this situation moves forward, there is still a long way to go, many hectares still to recover.

– There are still large areas that are overwhelmed.

Let us not forget that this action of the Police must be taken further forward.

Let’s hope that we can also find these ringleaders who have an arrest warrant, and who have done so much damage.
