San Juan Street celebrates its festivities from the 23rd to the 27th and they launch a ‘popular tasting’

Music, tributes, exhibitions, procession, floral offering, brotherhood dinner or the celebration of the ‘I Cata Popular’ are part of the festival program on San Juan de Logroño Street, which will be held from Sunday, June 23 to Thursday, June 27 . The Councilor for Celebrations, Laura Lázaro, and the president of the San Juan Street association, Sergio Palacios, encourage residents of Logroño and visitors “to come to the street these days to participate in a very varied festive program that has activities for “all audiences so that we can all enjoy this emblematic area of ​​the city.”

  • Sunday 23
    From 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., parade with bagpipers from the Escuela de Dulzainas de La Rioja; and at 11:00 p.m., traditional dinner on San Juan Street (for residents and merchants in this area).

  • Monday 24
    Procession of the saint (carried by women) at 1:00 p.m. and floral offering (and others) at 2:00 p.m.; parade of giants and big heads at 7:30 p.m.; toast in honor of Teo Martínez at 9:30 p.m.

  • Thursday 27
    After afternoon events on Tuesday the 25th and Wednesday the 26th, on Thursday the 27th at 7:30 p.m. the ‘I Popular Tasting’ will take place (wines from five wineries in Logroño for 12 euros).

The activities will begin this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with a tribute to the old businesses on the street and the photographer Teo Martínez. The proclamation of the festivities, which will be given by the mayor, will be dedicated to the oldest residents. Afterwards, at 1:30 p.m. there will be a jotero vermouth with Contradanza and from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. you can visit an exhibition of Vespa and Lambretta motorcycles by Scooter Club La Rioja.
